We are in need of a permanent foster home for John Woo. John Woo is a gorgeous boy with piercing blue eyes who came to Save-A-Pet as a stray from a nearby city. He LOVES interacting with people and when he sees you will not stop talking to you until you say hi! Hes also a very laid back boy who enjoys a nice soft bed and naps in his secure cage. Our Animal Health Supervisor says he has a WONDERFUL demeanor! Unfortunately John Woo had seizures and has been exposed to toxoplasmosis which is a medical condition that can cause neurological problems in a certain category of people. Sadly that will limit the home he can go to. Also it has kept him in a cage in one of our isolation rooms for the past few months hoping that he will clear the condition through medication. Because of his chronic toxoplasmosis infection, John Woo should only go to a home that has an area where he can be separated from other animals. He also should not be around anyone pregnant or thinking about getting pregnant, immuno-compromised people and young children. The toxoplasmosis is shed in the stool so hands should be washed after handling and people should avoid touching stool. We are not sure if he will ever be cleared of his toxo condition, but it is still a possibility although does not seem likely given his track record. Since we dont know if he will ever clear the medical condition he is available for permanent foster. If there is a kind person who cannot commit indefinitely but even provide John Woo with a temporary foster home for a couple of months that will at least get him out of his cage for a while that will also be great. Because he is very easy going, we are not worried about him having too much trouble adjusting. John Woo gets one pill for his seizures every 12 hours and is on an antibiotic to help control the toxo infection once daily. He is very easy to pill. Fostering John Woo temporarily or permanently means that you would provide him with a loving home and Save-A-Pet would provide for his current medical needs.
