Domestic Short Hair - Buff - Buff - Large - Adult - Male - Cat
Buff (about 1-2 years old as of July, xxxx) is a neutered male buff tabby short-haired cat. Buff was born in a house that was letting unaltered stray and feral cats in and out and was the last of nine friendly cats to be rescued from the colony when they were all spayed and neutered. He is a big sweet boy who loves to play and be picked up and held, but can be a little shy in new situations because of his difficult early life. Because he was so starved for attention he sometimes swats or 'love nips' when you stop petting him, and can get very rough when playing since he grew up only playing with other cats who were also rough and tumble. For those reasons he is probably best for a family with no very young children that might not understand how to be respectful and responsible around him, and one that will keep up with claw trimming to minimize the effects if he does hit at them like they are other kittens. After spending a few months living on display at a veterinary clinic Buff is taking some time to get used to being let loose in a real house again and prefers to go back to the safety of his cage when people are done holding him and making him purr; he'll need time to slowly adjust to his new life but he reacts well to other cats, dogs of all sizes, and the 10 year old little girl he is currently being fostered with.
